Queenslander Renovation - The First Steps

Happy 2012! 2012 is looking like a good year for us as we have received Council approval and can now start the first steps of our renovation. We moved the house on site from New Farm. Developers didn't want the house as they were building a highrise so we bought it with the grand (crazy) idea of restoring it. So now it's sitting on temporary stumps (styes) on our block. As you can see, this is not a job for the home handy man, so we're calling in the professionals. I look forward to sharing our renovation journey with you.

About Spots and Stripes
When I began my third renovation, I swapped the corporate ladder for the rusty paint ladder and began my website and blog, Spots and Stripes, which chronicles the restoration of our 'Queenslander' in Brisbane. I'm also an interior editor helping clients to create a customised home. Let me know if I assist you with the selection of lights, tiles, mirrors, wallpaper, paint, furniture and fabric.

Ha! Definitely one for the professionals or the completely mad DIYer!! What a fantastic home. That front verandah is going to be a beauty when its opened up again. xx
Oh can't wait to watch the transformation - good luck! ;-)
What a gorgeous house, love that front bay window. I have been waiting for a post on your repos, so great to see it all moving forward. Mel x

Wow, the house looks great. I going to enjoy seeing your progress. Happy 2012. KP
I am a new visitor but can't wait to see how this progresses. The house looks beautiful and will be stunning. Good luck and have fun!
I am an old visitor, new to making comments.I cannot wait to see what you do with this one. I have actually moved an old house 50km from property to property and renovated... so I am so interested in your journey.
Can't wait to see how it progresses. How very exciting!
Love that you've saved an old house. What a great feeling - even if it will be a lot of hard work and time ahead of you. It will all be worth it in the end. x
It would also be a better idea to install a temporary fence around the house to secure the place. This will also prevent burglars from attacking the house. Anyway, I look forward to seeing the progress of your project.
I just got your blog from Google. And this is really interesting to me as I am also planning to renovate my present home. So, I'll follow up yours to see how things work out and seek your tips for it. can you please share how much renovation has been done and its present looks.
Thanks that I found this cool and brilliant info that readers will learn from it. So keep writing-pantry doors-
