Elizabeth Taylor's Jewels
I wonder if Santa is going to be in New York tomorrow? If so you'll probably find him at the Christie's auction of Elizabeth Taylor's Jewels. He might pick up some diamonds (as you know old Liz never saw a diamond that she didn't buy), emeralds or even coral for the girls who have been very good this year. He's got a lot to choose from, like these coral and amethyst earrings (above) by Van Cleef and Arpels and this coral ring (below). The earrings could be a bit too much for Santa at USD$40,00 - $60,000 but the ring is a relative bargain at USD$2,000 - $4,000.
The Elizabeth Taylor diamond (pictured below), formerly known at the Krupp diamond, is probably out of Santa's budget with a price guide of USD $2.5 - $3.5 million. It is 33 carats and carries a bit of history as it was a gift from Richard Burton to Liz. But still there's reindeers to feed.
But that's ok, if I was choosing a piece from the collection I would probably chose this brooch (below) by Van Cleef and Arpels. It's described as an Art Deco Bow (price guide USD$60,000 - $80,000).
For those who like vintage styles, this necklace should fit the bill (price guide USD$120,000 to $180,000).
Then there's the emeralds. These drop emerald earrings (below) by Bvlgari seem very Christmassy (price guide is $150,000-$200,000).
And there's an emerald ring (below) to match also by Bvlgari (price guide $600,000 to $800,000).
Another pair of emerald earrings (price guide USD$30,000 to $50,000).
And to complete the emerald collection this Bvlgari necklace (price guide $1million to $1.5million).
I wonder who Santa will delivering these sparklers to? Could Will be looking for some sparkles for Kate? Will Tamara Mellon buy herself the big ring now that she's sold out of Jimmy Choo? Will Warney buy something for Liz? Perhaps SJP will buy herself a Christmas present? Did you see anything that you'd like in your stocking?

About Spots and Stripes
When I began my third renovation, I swapped the corporate ladder for the rusty paint ladder and began my website and blog, Spots and Stripes, which chronicles the restoration of our 'Queenslander' in Brisbane. I'm also an interior editor helping clients to create a home which is not modern, nor traditional, rather it's interesting. For a home that is unlike any other, I can assist with the selection of lights, tiles, mirrors, wallpaper, paint, furniture and fabric.

I can't keep my eyes off that pair of drop emerald earrings. It is simple yet regal. I do hope I could find one of these in a pawn shop sale.
The emerald dangling earrings are stunning! I always check fashion blogs and buy earrings online but too bad I can't afford this ones.
