Cane

I'm a big fan of cane furniture. Although it was daggy for many years, I sense a comeback. Aerin Lauder has lots of cane in her pool house (photo above).
I like cane on a veranda too. It looks great here in white.
Although, I like the natural look too. Isn't that green fabric fabulous? It reminds me of Babe Paley's villa at Round Hill in Jamaica.
In this new House Beautiful cover, they've mixed up the cane with a traditional lounge and coffee table. I like things mixed up a bit.
And finally, a formal dining room with cane chairs. It makes the room seem more inviting, less formal. I have lots of cane at home, I find it's perfect for our climate. Do you have any cane at your house?

I love cane too, and if it's good enough for Aerin, it's definitely good enough for me! K xx

Those green chairs are really awesome. I love the print and colors. I wonder how will my office chairs and computer desks will look like if I painted them with green paint.

I'm not a fan of cane before but these looked strikingly beautiful. Perhaps, I'll use these as inspiration to my dream house.

If I could spot new homes for sale like these ones, I'd definitely buy one! I loved the room design of the second photo.

The cane chairs are nice. We actually got two in a set which the moving companies in long island are still transferring from our old house to where we are now. It's great, although I don't think it is very modern.

I think these are just wonderful pieces of furniture. I personally do not want to feel that I am just paying for my house for rent so I want to buy furniture pieces that really matches my personality to make me feel very much at home.

About Spots and Stripes

When I began my third renovation, I swapped the corporate ladder for the rusty paint ladder and began my website and blog, Spots and Stripes, which chronicles the restoration of our 'Queenslander' in Brisbane. I'm also an interior editor helping clients to create a home which is not modern, nor traditional, rather it's interesting. For a home that is unlike any other, I can assist with the selection of lights, tiles, mirrors, wallpaper, paint, furniture and fabric.
