It's almost time to say goodbye to our friends on
The Block and I'm going to miss them. I think the reason why I like this show is that we've really got to know the contestants over the past eight weeks. They've all had some triumphs and some tears, but in the end they managed to renovate four derelict houses in eight weeks. I can't imagine how they got through it. Well done. This week was the exterior of the terrace houses - curb appeal and backyard. Personally, I like the lighter coloured exteriors. So the soft grey paint (Wattyl's Texas stone) with white trim (Wattyl's Bridal Waltz) chosen by Josh and Jenna was my favourite (picture above). And they named the house "Bellacourt" which suits the traditional style of the house.

Polly and Waz (photo above) also chose a light coloured paint for their exterior (Wattyl's Etheral White) and matched it with a darker grey trim (Woodland Grey). It looked great but I would have painted the front shutters white (like Josh and Jenna next door).

Rod and Tania continued their boutique hotel style this week and chose a charcoal paint (Wattyl's English Castle) for the exterior with black trim. I like how they've put a spotlight on the name of the house, Banstead Cottage.

Rod and Tania won the best exterior this week with this backyard which featured an outdoor spa and outdoor kitchen (photo above). They've really added some expensive gadgets to this house like the spa, remote control blinds and wine fridge. It's going to be interesting to see if the buyers add a premium for these inclusions on auction day.

Katrina and Amie painted their terrace house a dark grey colour as well (they chose a custom paint which is similar to Wattly's Ironstone). They also had a fire pit in the backyard. See more photos of their fire pit and out door room at
AM's blog. My phone is going to be off the hook on Sunday night, as I'll be watching the final episode of The Block. Who do you think is going to win?

I think it's going to be really close because they are all so similar. have to wait and see!!!
I'm going to make a prediction that Josh and Jenna will win. The winner is the person who makes the most profit so I think that the fact that Josh and Jenna have the only double fronted terrace house (which gives their rooms so much more size) plus their amazing design skills (great paint colours, great furniture) will get them over the line.
My call is Josh and Jenna for the win. The space and overall design. Either them, or Rod and Tania. Both teams' finishes are top notch, and their theme/design is continual throughout. I'm getting sad already that it is all over, fave show!
