Glamor in 2011

I'm still forming my new year's resolutions for 2011, but my thoughts are being influenced by a highly unlikely person, Elise Ward. For those of you who have not yet seen the movie, The Tourist, starring Angelina Jolie (as upper class Englishwoman Elise Ward) and Johnny Depp (as a maths teacher called Frank), do yourself a favour and go to the movies, today. From the opening scene, where Elise is wearing the outfit pictured, it's drop dead glamor. Elise has the poised perfection of the Hitchcock Blondes with the wardrobe and jewelery to match. All of Elise's outfits were made by Hollywood costume designer, Colleen Atwood, I'm tipping an an Oscar nomination for costume design. And did I mention the earrings? Love at first sight. The jewels are by Asprey. I'll take them all.

I can't wait to see the outfits of Elise Ward but I hear Johnny Depp looks ridiculous in the amount of makeup he's in?

He maybe had a bit of eyeliner but the scenery is so gorgeous you kind of forget about his makeup!

I love movies that transport me away with beautiful scenery and/or costumes, so I look forward to seeing this, as you've certainly got me curious. Last week I saw The King's Speech and it was outstanding, so you should see that too if not already.

I've heard that some audiences have clapped at the end of the Kings Speech movie, as it was so good. I can't wait to see it.

About Spots and Stripes

When I began my third renovation, I swapped the corporate ladder for the rusty paint ladder and began my website and blog, Spots and Stripes, which chronicles the restoration of our 'Queenslander' in Brisbane. I'm also an interior editor helping clients to create a home which is not modern, nor traditional, rather it's interesting. For a home that is unlike any other, I can assist with the selection of lights, tiles, mirrors, wallpaper, paint, furniture and fabric.
