Beach House - Part 2

Earlier this week before the deluge, I promised photos of the beach house. These are some of the professional photos which appeared in Home Beautiful magazine this month. The first photo is myself and my one year old, Chelsea. We're in the upstairs loungeroom. The large painting on the wall behind us is from one of my favourite stores, The Woolloongabba Antique Centre. The small one in the middle is from Katherine's shop at the Cottage Garden Centre in East Brisbane.
This second photo shows my pineapple collection on the console. I bought this fabulous console from Absolutely Fabulous in Woolloongabba.
PS. Thank you to everyone for the emails, texts and messages of support this week. It's a bittersweet feeling today, as our home in Bulimba is unscathed. Really. It's hard to believe given all the predictions said our suburb was a goner. It seems that the river really hit the Western suburbs very hard and kind of petered out by the time it wound itself around to the East. So we're counting our blessings today. And thinking about those families who weren't so lucky.

Wow that is exiting and it is sooo nice to read something good! Hello little painting You look fab in your new home. Did I tell you it was painted by a lady in West End. I think her house was too high for the floods. Will definitely be getting a copy. I am so glad your house in bulimba is ok too. Xxx Katherine

Congratulations on your magazine coverage, i will have to go out and buy it when a newsagent finally opens here in Brisbane. It's like a ghost town for business right now.

Ahhhh just had to pop back and tell you I took to my bed last night and absorbed all the pics and article on the beach house. What an absolutely fantastic job you did...it is superb and i love it! I am a fan of the pineapple too ! Now I really want to add some similar touches to our little beach house. I think a lot of people will be inspired by that article because there are many of those pole style homes that could do with such a fabulous makeover. You are very talented !! Mel xx

About Spots and Stripes

I'm Amber, a serial renovator and decorator. When I began my third renovation, I swapped the corporate ladder for the rusty paint ladder and began my website and blog, Spots and Stripes. I hope you'll join me as I renovate and decorate my home in Brisbane, a Queenslander circa 1900, with restyled vintage furniture and a dash of glamour. PS. My on-line shop also sells restyled vintage furniture.
