Fashions on the Field
The best part of the Melbourne Cup is the fashions on the field. And this was proven yesterday by the winner, Ms Alex Foxcroft, a solicitor from Melbourne. She wore an outfit by "Variations on a Theme", from Melbourne (that's a new label for me which I plan to check out). Her look is elegant. It could be inspired by Valentino due to the colour and the cascade of ruffles. Crucially, she has kept her accessories to a minimum, which draws the eye to her hat. Her hat complements the ruffles on her dress perfectly. The lucky gal won over $90,000 in prizes including a new Lexus. Well deserved!(Photo from smh.com.au)

About Spots and Stripes
When I began my third renovation, I swapped the corporate ladder for the rusty paint ladder and began my website and blog, Spots and Stripes, which chronicles the restoration of our 'Queenslander' in Brisbane. I'm also an interior editor helping clients to create a home which is not modern, nor traditional, rather it's interesting. For a home that is unlike any other, I can assist with the selection of lights, tiles, mirrors, wallpaper, paint, furniture and fabric.
